Violinist and composer Matija Krečič completed his studies in violin with prof. Fister and composition with prof. Stingl at the Regional Conservatory in Klagenfurt. He actively collaborates with Magnifico, Momento Cigano, Tango Story, Tomaž Hostnik, and in the past also with Terrafolk, Gal and Severa Gjurin, Mar Django, Skarabej, Orkestrada … He wrote music for several short films and theatre performances for Maribor Puppet Theater and Slovene National Theatre Maribor. He is the author of orchestral arrangements of Magnifico’s music for the film Montevideo, vidimo se! directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić. He created two musical images for the TV Slovenia’s 1st program (April 2016–June 2017 and June 2017– ) and received the expert jury award for the best arrangement at the Slovenska popevka 2018 festival. He is an extremely active arranger, and as a composer, he collaborates with several Slovenian soloists and ensembles such as Mate Bekavac, Ensemble Janus Atelier, MD7, Bernarda Fink, Carpe Artem, Metabonma, Cantabile Symphony Orchestra, Ingenium Ensemble, Academic choir Tone Tomšič, Ljubljana Madrigalists, and others. So far, two albums with his original music have been released: Architexture (Janus Atelier, 2014), and Cut / Rez (ZKP RTV, 2020). Matija Krečič is a member of the Society of Slovene Composers and co-founder of the Janus Atelier Music Association.
Admission free. Free tickets can be picked up the last hour before the concert at the side entrance to the KGBL Vegova (opposite the entrance to NUK). The number of seats is limited, so we advise you to arrive a little earlier.
Due to safety measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 infections, all visitors must wear protective facemasks, disinfect their hands regularly, and observe a safety distance of at least 1.5 m. Entry to the event is only possible with a ticket, visitors are asked to enter the venue individually, hostesses will accompany them to a vacant seat.
