22nd TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT AT THE LJUBLJANA CITY HALL

The Christmas concert, traditionally held on Christmas Eve, December 24, at 5 p.m., is organized by the Cultural Institute of Ljubljana’s Old Town in collaboration with Tourism Ljubljana and the City Municipality of Ljubljana. This event is a favorite among both residents and visitors to Ljubljana. Each year, a new production enchants the thousands in attendance, creating a magical Christmas Eve atmosphere.

This year’s 22nd Traditional Christmas Concert in front of the City Hall will feature one of Slovenia’s most renowned jazz/soul/gospel musicians, Uroš Perić, who will conjure up an intimate Christmas evening of festive music.

Uroš Perič, vocals, piano

Uroš Perić Perry became known for his excellent interpretations of songs from the golden age of blues, soul, and jazz. He was most influenced by the legendary Ray Charles, Nat King Cole, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, Otis Redding, Hank Crawford, David Fathead Newman, and Quincy Jones. Uroš Perić has thrilled audiences on three continents—Europe, the US, and Africa—with his performances. His love of music is reflected both in his interpretations of Charles’ music and in his own compositions. His singing, piano playing, and characteristic swaying are always met with thunderous applause from the audience. With his charming, broad smile and charismatic personality, he further captivates audiences of all ages. He discovered the black soul of Ray Charles within himself, which led him to perform publicly and create the program “Tribute to Ray Charles,” which took place not long after Charles’ death in 2004. Perry is a very rare white singer with the voice of a black jazz singer.
