Marking the 90th anniversary of Ottorino Respighi’s death, the Dallagnese Piano Duo pays tribute to one of the most significant figures of twentieth-century Italian music.
The Dallagnese Piano Duo ranks among the most distinguished Italian piano duos of the younger generation. Twin sisters Beatrice and Eleonora Dallagnese, originally from Treviso and currently based in Salzburg, perform regularly at prestigious international venues, including Carnegie Hall in New York, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Wiener Saal in Salzburg, the Musikverein Graz, the Museo Teatrale alla Scala in Milan, as well as at numerous festivals and concert series throughout Europe.
Their artistic career has been marked by an impressive series of international distinctions, including no fewer than forty-five first prizes at national and international competitions. Among their most notable achievements are awards at the American Protégé Competition in New York, the International Four-Hands Piano Competition in Monte Carlo, the César Franck International Piano Competition in Brussels, the Roma International Piano Competition, and Piano Talents in Milan. As soloists, they have appeared with the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra of Bacău, and the Virtuosi Brunensis Orchestra, and have collaborated with distinguished musicians including Quartetto Adorno and pianist Gloria Campaner.
In 2022, they were appointed Yamaha Artists and released their debut album Iter. Following their studies at the Incontri col Maestro Academy in Imola, they were named the Academy’s official piano duo in 2023 by its founder, Franco Scala. In the same year, the Academy selected them to represent Italy in the project Young Italian Musical Talents in the World, organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and CIDIM (Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica). In 2025, the Mozarteum University Salzburg selected the duo to record works from the classical repertoire for the Austrian Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka. Their recording activity also includes participation in the Imola Academy’s Schumann Project in 2022 and the recording of works by Johannes Brahms for its Brahms Project in 2025.
Their concert activity extends throughout Europe, North America and North Africa, with engagements in Salzburg, Munich, Berlin, Paris and Morocco among the highlights of the 2026 season.
After completing their studies at the Conservatory of Music C. Pollini in Padua and the Incontri col Maestro Academy in Imola, they continued their advanced training at the Mozarteum University Salzburg in 2024 under Andreas Groethuysen. Their performances are distinguished by exceptional ensemble cohesion, refined tonal artistry and remarkable interpretative maturity, qualities that have established them among the most promising piano duos of their generation.
