The traditional concert of selected TEMSIG awardees will feature the Gubenšek–Pucihar Piano Duo, which won first prize at the 2026 TEMSIG national competition.
Lenart Gubenšek is one of the most promising young Slovenian pianists of his generation. During his musical education, he has distinguished himself through a series of notable achievements at national and international competitions. In 2022, he was awarded a gold plaque and third prize at the TEMSIG national competition in Maribor, which led to a concert appearance with the Symphony Orchestra of the Celje Music School. At the Celeia International Competition, he received a gold plaque in 2023 and, in 2025, was awarded both first prize and a gold plaque. He began his musical training as an accordion student under Matevž Pušnik before turning to piano studies at the Celje Arts Gymnasium, where he studied with Benjamin Govže. He has further refined his artistic development through masterclasses with distinguished pianists and pedagogues, including Aleksandar Serdar, Natalia Trull, Simon Trpčeski and Srđan Čaldarović. He is currently pursuing piano studies at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana under the guidance of Sae Lee, continuing to develop his artistic and interpretative profile.
Lian Pucihar is one of the best young Slovenian pianists. Despite his young age, he has already distinguished himself through a series of notable achievements at national and international competitions. His awards include first prize at the International Tartini Competition in Piran (2022), the title of absolute winner at the International Competition in Malborghetto (2023), second prize at the International Competition in Treviso with a chamber ensemble (2023), third prize at the TEMSIG national competition (2025), third prize at the Béla Bartók Competition in Graz, and third prize at the Young Virtuoso Competition in Zagreb. In the 2023/24 season, he presented a recital at the Slovenian Philharmonic as part of the Glasbena mladina ljubljanska concert series. In 2024, he was selected to participate in the BISMA Summer Academy in Poland, where he studied with distinguished pianists Dmitri Alexeev, Ilia Maximov and Rafael Lipstein. He began his musical training as a violinist before turning to piano at the age of six. After studying with Ilonka Pucihar and Kaja Stražar, he continued his education at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet under the guidance of Siaush Gadjiev. He has further refined his artistic development through masterclasses with renowned musicians and pedagogues, including Markus Schirmer, Anna Malikova, Alexander Gadjiev, Jasminka Stančul, Simon Trpčeski and Tadej Horvat. He is currently studying piano at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana in the class of Tatjana Ognjanović.
