Eva Černe Avbelj is preparing a special festive concert with a group of top musicians. The stage will resound with the most beautiful Christmas and festive songs, filled with warmth, elegance, and Eva’s distinctive voice, which will transport you to a festive world of memories, sparkle, and tenderness.
You can expect an intimate, heartfelt, and lively musical experience that will fill you with the true spirit of the holidays.
Soprano Eva Černe Avbelj began her professional music career at the age of 16 with a victory in the Battle of Talents music competition. In the following years, she released her first solo album, won the Slovenska popevka festival, and came in second at Ema. She enrolled in solo singing studies at the Academy of Music in Ljubljana and received her master’s degree in 2016 in the class of Prof. Alenka Dernač Bunta. In 2014, she made her debut at the SNG Maribor in the role of the First Forest Fairy in Dvořák’s opera Rusalka, and in 2015 at the SNG Opera and Ballet Ljubljana in the role of Frasquita in Bizet’s opera Carmen. She also appeared as Despina in Mozart’s opera Cosi fan tutte, Cupid in Offenbach’s operetta Orpheus in the Underworld, as Najada in the opera Ariadne auf Naxos, by Richard Strauss, and as Ariane in the cosmic opera The Sound by Rok Golob in Ljubljana, as well as the roles of the First Lady and First Boy in Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute at both Slovenian national opera houses. In collaboration with the Slovenian Chamber Music Theatre, she performed the role of Sandrine in Piccinni’s opera Nobody’s Daughter and the role of Miranda in McNeff’s opera The Gentle Giant. As a soloist, she has performed with numerous Slovenian orchestras, including the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, the Police Orchestra, the Slovenian Army Orchestra, and the Ljubljana Soloists Orchestra. In 2019, she performed as a guest soloist with the Sacramento Choral Society at concerts in Ljubljana and Zagreb. She is also very active in the field of entertainment music and musical theater. She made her debut in the musical Veronika Deseniška, playing the title role of Veronika, and in the musical Moje pesmi, moje sanje (My Songs, My Dreams), playing the lead role of Marija. She is active as a soloist at the Studenec Summer Theater and performs at many ceremonies, television shows, music festivals, and in recent years she has been focusing on reviving Slovenian folk songs.
