This year, our concerts honouring UNESCO’s International Jazz Day also include an evening with renowned jazz masters Peter Mihelič, Nikola Matošić, and special guest Predrag Revišin. Predrag is well known to Slovenian audiences as a bassist and excellent arranger, who has been frequenting our jazz venues with a variety of noted musicians for decades. This year, he will finally step onto the Slovenian scene as a saxophonist. The concert is sure to enchant lovers of mainstream jazz far and wide.

ABOUT INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAY:

On the initiative of the legendary jazz composer Herbie Hancock April 30th was recognized as International Jazz Day at the General Assembly of UNESCO. It was added to the United Nations’ calendar in 2012. Today it is celebrated in more than 190 countries. UNESCO recognizes jazz music as a means of freedom of expression and dialogue between cultures; as a is synonym of respect for human rights and the dignity of women in men, regardless of their origin.
