Online premiere of the film: SG JAZZ ENSEMBLE
Jazz Ravne Presents: Premiere of the Documentary Film on the SG Jazz Ensemble
Jazz Ravne places great importance on preserving Slovenian and local cultural heritage. The Slovenj Gradec-based SG Jazz Ensemble holds a significant place in the jazz legacy of the Koroška region and the broader Slovenian music scene. With roots dating back to 1958, the ensemble brought together exceptional musicians, inspired younger generations, and played a vital role in shaping a vibrant local and national jazz culture.
This documentary offers an intimate look into the ensemble’s musical journey and the personal stories of its members, as reflected upon nearly seventy years later.
With the release of this film, we aim to preserve the memory of Koroška’s jazz heritage and highlight the cultural impact the SG Jazz Ensemble has had—and may still have—on our community.
