New York-based Slovenian saxophonist Jan Kus and his globally acclaimed band, Slavo Rican Assembly, join forces with celebrated vocalist Tatiana Cameron – “Tajči” in a vibrant new collaboration. Tajči’s smooth, emotion-packed vocals paired with Slavo Rican Assembly’s sound—rich in soul, culture, and creative exploration—promise a nuanced and emotionally resonant performance. This collaboration bridges tradition and innovation, offering a unique experience for discerning jazz audiences and those who appreciate the interplay of cultural depth and musical excellence.

Slavo Rican Assembly is the bold new world music and jazz sensation emerging from the creative heart of New York City. Founded by Slovenian-born saxophonist and composer Jan Kus, the seven-piece ensemble unites Kus’ South Slavic musical heritage with his deep experience in New York’s Latin jazz scene. Critics and audiences worldwide are taking notice, with their debut album Intercosmic earning praise from Songlines magazine and a feature on WNYC’s All of It with Alison Stewart. Using jazz as a universal language, Slavo Rican Assembly weaves together Afro-Caribbean rhythms—bomba, salsa, rumba—with Slovenian harvest songs, Bosnian lullabies, and Serbian laments. The result is a genre-defying, high-energy musical fusion that’s 100% New York. Slavo Rican Assembly continues to push boundaries—bringing together tradition, innovation, and groove in a sound that’s as intellectually exciting as it is emotionally charged.

Jan Kus, who moved to New York in 2012, quickly became a fixture in the city’s jazz and Latin music scenes, performing and recording with top-tier artists such as Antonio Hart, Miguel Zenón, Alex Sipiagin, Concha Buika, Mauricio Herrera, Melanie Charles, Santiago Cañada, César Orozco, Luisito Quintero, Ricky Rodriguez, Rafael Maya, and Jorge Glem. In 2024, he represented Slovenia as a soloist with the American Pops Orchestra, in a performance at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C..

Tatiana Cameron – “Tajči” is an accomplished, award-winning vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose genre-spanning career has taken her from European pop stardom to stages across the United States. Before her mainstream success, Tajči studied jazz in her native Zagreb (Croatia), later continuing her musical education in New York City, where she absorbed the depth and nuance of jazz by attending performances by some of the city’s finest musicians. Throughout her career, she toured extensively while raising a family—always keeping jazz close in the towns she called home. She worked with Charlie Michelaney’s trio in

Los Angeles, performed with Steve Schmidt in Cincinnati (Ohio), and recorded with Grammy-winning arranger and pianist Jeff Steinberg in Nashville (Tennessee). She has produced and headlined multiple Big Band concerts, interpreting classics from the Great American Songbook with emotional authenticity and technical excellence—including a recent performance with the American Pops Orchestra at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. Tajči also works with Lori Mechem, the founder of the esteemed Nashville Jazz Workshop, and actively collaborates and performs within the city’s vibrant jazz scene. Known for her expressive voice, soulful interpretations, and unique ability to bridge musical traditions, Tajči brings heart, skill, and depth to every performance.
