The Copenhagen Region Youth Orchestra – DUSIKA was established in 1988 at the initiative of the Copenhagen County Council. The orchestra brings together talented young musicians who study at music conservatories and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. It operates under the artistic direction of renowned conductor Christian Øland.
DUSIKA offers young musicians a unique opportunity to become part of a symphony orchestra, where they receive comprehensive and professional musical training. Their mission is “to seek connection through music and share their passion with the widest possible audience.”
Each season, the orchestra organizes and performs between 8 and 10 concerts. In addition, it plans concert tours that combine musical creation with social and recreational activities. These tours allow the orchestra to perform abroad, further confirming their high level of achievement. So far, they have successfully toured Denmark, the Faroe Islands, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, Russia, Estonia, Scotland, the Czech Republic, and even Australia.
After a highly successful tour in 2019, the orchestra is delighted to return to Slovenia to once again captivate audiences with their musical virtuosity.
Complimentary tickets, courtesy of Večer, GenLan and Primorske novice can be collected an hour before the concert at the venue. Reservations are not possible, spaces are limited.
