Trio Siderishas earned top honors in several chamber music competitions, including first prize at the Virtuoso International Music Awards competition in London, and the nomination as best ensemble of the edition; second prize at the New York Classical Music Competition; second prize at the Fanny Mendelssohn Music Competition; and third prize at the World’s Best Musicians Competition in Warsaw. The ensemble, that was founded in Venice in 2021, is committed to continuous research, study and improvement of the chamber music repertoire. Notable performances include concerts held at the Nádor Hall in Budapest, the Main Hall of the Béla Bartók Music School in Vác (Hungary), the Ciro Pinsuti Theater in Sinalunga, St. James’s Church in London, and the Sale Apollinee of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In March 2023, after having been selected by the prestigious Stauffer Academy of Cremona, Trio Sideris participated in a masterclass for piano trios held by Mischa Maisky and the Maisky Trio. The name Sideris has Latin roots and derives from the word sidus, sideris, which means star. This word is closely connected to the meaning of music for the trio: a distant star, sometimes unattainable, yet always constant and bright along its path. They themselves say that this is precisely what drives them forward:”…a constant longing for exploration, work, and striving, without knowing whether this bright “star” will ever be within reach.”
Violinist Dániel Jankovics studied with renowned professors in Budapest and Venice (Mária Zs. Szabó, Stefano Zanchetta, Natasa Soós, Davide Amodio, Enrico Parizzi, among others), refining his skills in baroque violin and chamber music. He studied chamber music with Giovanni Battista Rigon and went on to a two-year specialization program in chamber music which he completed with honors at the Antonio Buzzolla Conservatory in Rovigo. His interest in a deep understanding and precise interpretation of musical repertoire, in accordance with the historical period of each composer, inspired him to study baroque violin, which he completed at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan under the guidance of Prof. Renata Spotti. In 2017 and 2018, he won the National Talent competition in Hungary. He regularly performs with prominent orchestras and chamber ensembles around the world and attends masterclasses with distinguished professors, including Katalin Kokas, István Kertész, Péter Lissauer, and Márta Ábrahám.
Henrik Papp is a first-prize winner of numerous competitions, such as: the 4th International Moscow Music Competition, the 14th National Kertész Ottó Cello Competition, the 12th National Starker János Cello Competition, the 10th National Alba Regia Chamber Music Competition, the 5th Bande Ede Cello Competition (duet category), etc. He completed both his bachelor’s degree and master’s studies summa cum laude at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, studying under István Varga, and went on to earn a master’s degree in music pedagogy. During his studies, he participated in numerous masterclasses, including with the renowned Daniel Müller-Schott. Between 2021 and 2023, he taught at the Bence Szabolcsi State Music School in Budapest, where he gained valuable experience in individual and chamber music instruction. In 2023 and 2024, he was an intern with the Philharmonic Orchestra Würzburg. Since 2024, he has been living in Munich, where he teaches cello at various music schools and performs with the Bavarian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
Pianist Rachele Bonaffini received a scholarship at the age of eleven after winning the national Sara Preatoni Competition in Milan. Among her achievements are several first prizes at regional and international competitions, including the International Mozart Competition in Quinto Vicentino and the first National Competition of the Civica Scuola di Musica in Milan. She is also the recipient of the absolute first prize at the Lodovico Agostini Competition in Ferrara, where she was honored to perform at the winners’ concert held in one of the oldest Gothic palaces, the Palazzo degli Estensi. At the age of seventeen, she was admitted to the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory in Venice, where she graduated in piano under the mentorship of Prof. Anna Barutti. She continued her studies at the same conservatory, earning a master’s degree in chamber music with top marks and honors, under the guidance of maestros Giovanni Battista Rigon and Monica Bertagnin. During this time, she took part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Brenno Ambrosini, Bernadetta Raatz, Alexandre Legér, Luca Chiantore, Temenuschka Vasselinova, Gala Chistiakova, Muriel Chemin, and Trio di Parma. Interested in the relationship between aesthetics and human practice, she deepened her studies in musical aesthetics and moral philosophy, obtaining a degree in philosophy at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice with a thesis in moral philosophy focused on the ethics of the musician.
