VITO MARENCE FLAMENCO TRIO (Slovenia)
Vito Marenče, guitar
Andrej Tomazin, percussion
Mitja Obed, dance
The evening will resonate in the spirit of flamenco; music where passion meets virtuosity, and where rhythm, melody, and dance form an inseparable whole. The trio of guitarist and composer Vito Marenče will guide the audience through a rich sonic landscape, intertwining the essence of traditional flamenco guitar with the harmonic and rhythmic colours of jazz, classical, Latin American, and Indian music. Alongside percussionist Andrej Tomazin, guest dancer Mitja Obed will channel the untamed energy of flamenco through his expressive physical artistry.
Vito Marenče began his musical journey as a classical guitarist, refining his craft under esteemed mentors such as Anton Črnugelj and Aleš Strajnar. He graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory under the legendary Paco Peña and further honed his artistry with masters including Chicuelo, Miguel Ángel Cortés, and Paco Serrano. After two years living in Andalusia, he collaborated with prominent flamenco artists such as Ángel Muñoz, Nuria Manglano, and José Ligero. His original works weave tradition with contemporary expression, where rhythm, melody, and improvisation merge into a distinctive musical narrative.
