Melodies of the Heart is a light-hearted operetta production presented by ASB Academy, bringing together outstanding young opera singers from Slovenian and international music academies. Performed by eight vocal soloists with piano accompaniment, costumes and stage elements, the production celebrates the charm, wit and melodic richness of the operetta tradition.The programme features selected scenes and musical numbers from six iconic operettas – Die Fledermaus, The Carniolan Nightingale, The Land of Smiles, A Night in Venice, Gasparone and Countess Maritza – performed in Slovenian. A specially conceived narrative framework links the individual excerpts, enhancing the dramatic flow and sparkling theatrical character of the genre. Combining memorable melodies, humour, dance and romantic intrigue, the production offers an engaging music-theatre experience for audiences of all generations.
