ALBUM RELEASE: MIDDLE LAND TRIO (Slovenia, Italy)

On April 30 2026, in celebration of International Jazz Day, the Middle Land Trio will release their live album Live in Ravne. The physical edition follows the digital release on April 17, when the album was available for streaming on all major platforms, marking exactly one year after the concert in Ravne na Koroškem was recorded live. This timeline lends a symbolic dimension to the release, capturing a moment that is returning a year later as a sonic document in its most immediate and genuine form.

The album presents a completely unedited live recording, without cuts, editing or any form of studio interventions. This deliberate choice highlights the sonic integrity of the trio, offering the listener a direct insight into the creative process as it happened in real time.

At the center of Middle Land Trio’s artistic expression is free improvisation that transcends traditional structures and established harmonic frameworks. Their approach is founded in deep mutual listening, where tonal colours intertwine spontaneously to create an ever-changing musical landscape. It is a subtle balance between structure and complete freedom, between rhythm and its absence, between sonic density and silence. Within these transition, a space is formed where intuition, memory and moment converge, establishing a form of real-time composition where music is created here and now.

Live in Ravne therefore is not merely a documented live concert, but a capture of a process that unfolds between the artists and the space, existing merely in the moment of its creation. The recording was made by Iztok Zupan (Klopotec label), whose thoughtful approach preserves the natural dynamics and spatial dimension of the performance. An important part of the project’s realization was also made possible through the support and contribution of Franc Kokal.
