The award winning Astatine Trio has, since its formation in 2021, established itself as one of UK’s most exciting young chamber ensembles. Recently named BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artists for 2025-27, the trio has received notable international recognition, including prizes at the Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition in Graz and the Birmingham International Piano Chamber Music Competition. The trio is deeply committed to contemporary music and collaboration with living composers.

Slovenian violinist Maja Horvat performs regularly across the UK and Europe. In 2022 Maja graduated from the Royal College of Music in London under the tutelage of Alina Ibragimova. In 2019 she received the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Emily Andreson Prize and has won prizes at the TEMSIG and Tartini competitions. She made her Wigmore Hall debut in 2021 and has collaborated with artists including Sir Andras Schiff and Steven Isserlis.

Cellist Riya Hamie is a full-scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music as recipient of the Sir Elton John award. She is prizewinner of numerous UK competitions and was named Sussex Young Musician of the Year 2024. Hamie has appeared as principal cellist with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and performed in venues including Wigmore Hall, the Barbican and the Royal Albert Hall.

Pianist Berniya Hamie performs extensively as both a soloist and chamber musicians. Recepient of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Piano Scholarship in 2024, she has appeared at venues inclufing Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall. She currently studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has worked with distinguished musicians including Alfred Brendel, Paul Lewis and Imogen Cooper.
