Slovenian-Croatian ensemble of renowned flutists, who work professionally in orchestras and in pedagogic field, is this year celebrating 20th anniversary of its musical path, which will be also marked with the release of a new double CD. They perform classical works for flute quartet and works of contemporary composers. A large part of their repertoire consists of pieces written especially for them. At many concerts over the last two decades, the Quartet impressed the audience with its interpretation, sense of style, phrase, and excellent intonation. By incorporating different types of flutes such as the piccolo, alto and bass flute, the artists achieve a wide range of sound timbre. The ensemble performs all over Europe. The 4Syrinx flute quartet has so far released three CDs: Monochromia (2006), Room for Four (2010), and DECADE (2013). The recording of the Silbanski tanec by the composer Igor Kuljerić from the last CD received the Porin award for best classical composition.
