We will be transported into a magical Friday night with a selection of jazz standards performed by talented young musicians.

Double bassist, bass guitarist, and composer Jernej Vindšnurer studied jazz double bass at the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory (KGBL). During his schooling at the conservatory, he won the gold plaque and 1st place with the band Jazzed at the national competition Temsig (2016). A month later, with the same ensemble, he also won an award at a music competition in Treviso. The following year, as a part of the “young jazz musicians”, he collaborated with the Big Band RTV Slovenia, which is a great honour for such a young musician. He is also a member of the KGBL Big Band, Mencarija, Summertime Quintet, Wild Cats, Mr.J.V.trio, etc. He has played over 400 concerts and performances in his musical career. In the years 2016–2017, he participated in the Studenec Summer Theater, where he played in groups under the patronage of the renowned Slovenian musician Slavko Avsenik Jr. He is perfecting his knowledge at various professional workshops, such as Jazz Camp Kranj and Jazzinty Novo Mesto. He studied with world-famous musicians: Aleš Avbelj, Paul Berner, Linda Oh, David Binney, Joe Sanders, Myles Sloniker, Kaspar Vadsholt, Jim Snidero, Goran Kostić … In 2018 he graduated with honours at the KGBL under prof. Robert Jukič and passed the entrance exam at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. He is now continuing his education under the watchful eye of world-renowned double bassist and educator Morten Ramsbøl. Already in his first year of schooling at the University of Graz, he won the first prize with the group Wild cats and special recognition for achieving all 100 points in the TEMSIG 2019 competition. He also proved himself individually at the Marianne Mendt competition, where he made his way to the final festival in st. Pölten. This year, he won first place in the solo category at the TEMSIG competition, with all 100 points, also, he won the award for the best performed obligatory composition, and a composition by a Slovenian composer, his original composition Halb Neun. He finished the school year with successfully passed entrance exams for the parallel study of jazz pedagogy (IGP-JAZZ). While studying and competing, he regularly performs on the international jazz scene in Austria, Croatia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany etc., with world-renowned musicians such as Max Grosch, Renato Chicco, Ricki Malet, Christian Havel, Anil Bilgen, Lajos Toth, etc.

Ana Čop is a young singer and pianist who works mainly in the field of jazz. Currently, she is completing studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, and in September, she will begin postgraduate studies at the Jazzcampus in Basel, Switzerland. As a member of various ensembles, she regularly collaborates with many musicians in Slovenia and abroad. She has been educated by renowned musicians such as Sheila Jordan, Kevin Mahogany, Norma Winstone, Theo Bleckmann, JD Walter, Danny Grissett and Kate McGarry. She also dedicates herself to teaching music and wants to bring jazz closer to younger audiences. Last year, in a co-production with the Janez Trdina Cultural Center, she prepared the musical narrative Čuk se je oženil v Ameriko (Little owl married in America), which teaches children the basics of jazz literacy, and at the same time encourages them to get to know and accept other cultures. She is currently creating the most in the ACTS! band (along with pianist Thilo Seevers), with whom she is releasing her first album in September. Ana is a multiple TEMSIG award winner, winner of the MM Jazz Festival (2018) and mentor of the new category for beginners at the Jazzinty International Workshop (2019). She is also a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.

Oto Gvardjančič began his musical career at the age of seven at the Vrhnika Music School in the class of prof. Dominika Naveršnik, where he played the classical piano for 8 years. Between 2015 and 2019 he studied at the Ljubljana Music and Ballet Conservatory in the class of prof. Milan Stanisavljević, majoring in jazz piano. He is the recipient of numerous awards, both at national and international competitions. As a soloist, he has performed twice with the Big Band RTV Slovenia. This year he successfully completed the 1st year of study at the Jazz-Institute in Berlin in the class of prof. Wolfgang Köhler.

Nina Korošak Serčič started her music career at the age of 20. She first acquired her knowledge in Linz at the Anton Bruckner Private University, then her path led her to Canada, where she collaborated and studied with renowned musicians such as Quincy Davis, Curtis Nowosad, Steve Kirby, Jon Gordon and Derric Gardner. She is currently completing her jazz drum studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, under the guidance of Professor Howard Curtis. In the last 5 years she has had the opportunity to play with renowned musicians such as Sheila Jordan, Danny Ziemann, Renato Chicco, Derrick Gardner, Jon Gordon, Melanie Bong, Primož Grašič, Tomaž Gajšt, Jaka Kopač, Lajos Toth, Peti Gyarfas, Onat Murat, and collaborate in projects freekind., Two for Two, Melanie Bong / Sheila Jordan, JazzLadies, Soul ‘N’ Pepper. She is currently investing the most energy and heart in her project freekind., which she created together with Croatian pianist and vocalist Sara Ester Gredelj.
