MOZETIČ GYPSY SWING 4 (Slovenia)

David Mozetič, saxophone
Blaž Pahor, piano
Marko Čepak Maki, guitar
Roberto Franceschini, bass

On International Jazz Day, four exceptional jazz musicians have come together in a gypsy swing quartet. They will  perform jazz standards and original music.

The band leader, saxophonist, composer, and arranger David Mozetič graduated in saxophone from the Carinthian Conservatory of Music in Klagenfurt, in the class of renowned saxophonist Michael Erian. He actively collaborates with various ensembles ranging from smaller jazz groups to big bands (Big Band Nova, Big Band Gverillaz, Big Band Cerknica).

Pianist, arranger and composer Blaž Pahor regularly conducts the Big Band Nova from Gorizia. He has collaborated with many well-known jazz musicians (e.g. Ratko Divjak). His versatility has also led him to collaborate with musicians from other genres, such as Vlado Kreslin, Tinkara Kovač, Martina Martensson, and others.

Guitarist Marko Čepak Maki got his master’s degree in jazz from the Giuseppe Tartini State Conservatory in Trieste. He regularly collaborates with both Slovenian (Artbeaters, Swingatan, GveriLLaz Big Band) and international ensembles (The H.O.T., Ragtim Jazz Band, Marko Čepak Trio and Quartet). With renowned luthier Luka Zaletelj, he also co-designed one of his best custom-made guitars.

In the course of his jazz career, Gorizia-based bassist and composer Roberto Franceschini has appeared at prominent festivals and live television concerts ranging from RAI 3 to the Exit Festival in Novi Sad. In addition to playing instruments, he also professionally crafts them.

The musicians will perform at 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
