Connecting Disability and Cultural NGOs – A new cross-sectoral project for greater accessibility of culture
At the Imago Sloveniae – The Image of Slovenia Foundation, together with the Intermunicipal Association of Disabled Persons Domžale, Hiša kulture Celje (House of Culture Celje) and the Primorski poletni festival Association (Primorski Summer Festival), we are launching a new cross-sectoral project entitled “Connecting Disability and Cultural NGOs”.
Through the project, we are connecting the fields of culture and disability support, creating new opportunities for the greater social inclusion of persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. We believe that high-quality cultural content can significantly contribute to reducing social isolation, encouraging intergenerational cooperation, and improving quality of life.
As part of the project, we will:
- provide free access to cultural events in Ljubljana, Celje, and the Slovenian coastal region,
- organise free transportation for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups,
- carry out cultural and arts education workshops for young people and the wider public,
- support the inclusion of emerging young artists and the development of new audiences.
The project will take place in the Savinja, Coastal–Karst, and Central Slovenia statistical regions, while additional organisations working in the field of disability support will also be invited to participate.
With this long-term project, we aim to contribute to a more connected, accessible, and inclusive society, while strengthening the role of culture as an essential part of quality living.
More information is available at the following link.
The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia within the framework of the Public Call for the Development and Professionalisation of NGOs and Volunteering 2025.
